Hennepin Theatre Trust and Minneapolis Musical Theatre (MMT), as part of 

their new partnership, announced today that MMT’s 2013 season will feature Reefer Madness 

and Sunset Boulevard and be held for the first time at the Trust’s New Century Theatre. 

Reefer Madness, which runs February 1-24, 2013,is a raucous, musical comedy taking a 

tongue-in-cheek look at the perils of marijuana. Sunset Boulevard fromMay 31-June 23, is a 

Broadway hit based on the 1950 Oscar-winning movie about faded glory and unfulfilled ambition. 

Both productions will be directed by Steven Meerdink, MMT’s  artistic director. Two-show 

subscription packages are available now by calling 612-455-9501, online at

in Minneapolis. Individual tickets will go on sale at a later date.

2007 - Edward Williams, Jr. honored with both an Ivey Award and Lavender Magazine Best Actor in a Musical Award for his performance as Molina in MMT's "Kiss of the Spider Woman". 

2007 - MMT's area premiere of "Zombie Prom" named Outstanding Musical of the Year (smaller theaters) by the Minneapolis Star Tribune. 

2006 - Kevin Hansen and Steven Meerdink named by Lavender Magazine as Best Actors in a Musical for "La Cage aux Folles".

2005 - "The Who's Tommy" named one of three Outstanding Musicals of the Year (smaller theaters) by the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

2004 - MMT's area premiere of "Bat Boy: the musical" named Outstanding Musical of the Year (smaller theaters) by the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

2001 - MMT's area premiere of "When Pigs Fly" honored as one of the 'Top 10 Productions of the Year' by St. Paul Pioneer Press.
